Courier services do more than just deliver parcels

07-12-2021

Courier services are often seen as a one-dimensional solution to deliver packages from point A to point B. But what if something goes wrong?

It often happens that customers are sent from pillar to post when there are problems with deliveries. In some cases, the consequences can be disastrous.

Real Life

Think, for example, of deliveries of medicines and wound care products. Or wilting products like flowers, where late delivery means the product has to be discarded. The result is an angry customer, a dispute about fees and a huge amount of additional administrative work for all parties involved. With the outbreak of the corona crisis, the pressure on courier services has increased enormously.

Increased need for parcel deliveries follows the law of supply and demand and naturally translates to increased prices. Medical packages also take precedence, disrupting the entire supply chain, from factory to front door.

Take preparing for a wedding. After months of researching everything in detail, coordinating the mutual wishes and booking the location, the big day comes with rapid stride. Until the measures throw a spanner in the works. The location is closed, the limited amount of attendees throws the guest list and the dress that was already paid for cannot be delivered. A sad development.

Even if there is even some relief from the imposed measures, the location turns out to be overbooked, the roses in the bouquet are not available and the 'Best Man' just caught the flu. At that moment in time, the customer needs a courier service that thinks along, takes problems off their hands and offers solutions for insurmountable problems.

Room for improvement?

At such a moment, a courier service helps by not only taking care of the entire process, but also direct customer contact. Intelligent software solutions protect clients from annoyed phone calls over late deliveries, compensation and parcel tracking.

By fully exploiting technical advances, stock problems are automatically processed, delays along the way are immediately traced and immediate insight is obtained into possible alternative products or suppliers.

My Parcel is a pioneer and developer. By listening to the needs of our clients, but also their customers, innovation during a setback - such as a global crisis - becomes the standard.
